"Borne idea of the Village at that time may be had from the statement that Colrain possessed a band, of which most of the members resided in Griswoldville. In fact, the bandstand was moved to the village from the "city" in 1885. Needless to say, this has long since vanished. $100 was realized for the benefit of the band at a lawn party held then!"
