This view looks east at a time when the canal is being widened and lengthened (1904). >>> Buildings in the rear; on the left, International Paper Co.. Center, Clark & Chapman Machine Co. (1872-1908) & later the Shawmut Mfg. Co. (1877-1891) maufactured faux leather goods. This building will be removed to accommodtae the headgate gatehouse.
