Turners Falls is built on three terraces. The lower is the flood-plain or the downtown area. The same level as the Connecticut River.
The second terrace is known as the "Middle Hill" area . . . plumbed out, this terrace would be about 70-80 feet above the downtown area.
The upper terrace or the "Hill" section . . . plumbed out would be 120-130 feet above the downtown area.
