Franklin County locations.
Description
The 1936 Flood (March 17 to 23) wreaked havoc in New England and Franklin County, MA. The rains began on March 17 and continued through the 19th. The combination of rapid snow melt, massive ice floes and heavy rainfall led to the "Greatest of all floods thus far chronicled within the reaches of New England's picturesque rivers." The flood crested at 25 feet on March 23, and equaled that of the 1927 flood. This collection of images will allow the viewer to gain a sense of the extent of the local devastation.
