dc.description | June 8, 82 [1882] -- My dear Mr. Rice, -- The “reluctance” that you mention comes in this way. Your nephew ought to have a better place than I have to offer him. And his being your nephew reminds me that I ought to devote a portion of my time to him, which you know I have very little at my disposal. -- It is this fear that I shall be obliged to do less than mu duty that makes me hesitate Still if you think he would like to take a place in the mill as an operative you could let him come and I will do the best I can for you and him. A good deal [will] [depend] upon himself. -- Yours Truly -- John Keith -- | |
