Oct. 2, 84 [1884] -- My dear Davis, -- This will introduce to you Mr. G.A. Goddard, a young friend of mine who has been employed in the Crocker National Bank for several years. He thinks he would like to get a sniff of the western air and may locate. He is a son of Mr. E.L. Goddard of Turners Falls who I presume you remember and is a young man of unquestionable honesty and integrity. -- If you can show him any attention or do him any favor I shall consider it personal to myself. -- Yours truly -- John Keith -- -- ; -- Page 370 appears on the archetype letter -- e.g. -- -- -- Edward L. Goddard was a prominent citizen and major landowner in Turners Falls. In 1900 as a member of G.A.R. (Edwin E. Day Post, Greenfield, Mass.,) he was the oldest surviving member of the Civil War at age 93. -- e.g -- . -- -- Stephen Grover Cleveland (March 18, 1837 – June 24, 1908) was an American politician and lawyer who was the 22nd and 24th President of the United States, the only Democratic President in American history to serve two non-consecutive terms in office (1885–89 and 1893–97). --
