June 18 5 [1875] -- Mr Rice -- Dear Sir -- I called at the Five Cent Savings Bank and arranged to pay the $30,000 note after 30 days – The $20,000 I would like to have remain but They are not inclined to cover it unless you endorse it. The withdrawal of a name seems to cast a doubt on all the rest.
