March 13 5 [1875] -- Friend Grinnell I have adopted a novel way of putting up my account book paper that is peculiar to our mill. I have made an application to Pat Office for trade mark through Thomas N Dodge of Worcester - who I think you know- If the matter comes to your notice and you can say a word to facilitate the thing – consistent with your official duties of course you will do; -- -- James S.
