Abstract
The historically elusive location of the great fishing spot on the Connecticut River known as BURNHAM'S ROCK.
Description
BURNHAM'S ROCK was located at the Gill side of 'Turners Falls', (the cataract, not the village). It was a notoriously famous fishing spot for Salmon and Shad during the early to mid-19th Century. Following numerous dam constructions along the fall/cataract, the higher water levels have inundated the physical characteristics of the site. This study will enlighten the reader as to the actual locations of Foster's Rock and Burnham's Rock . . . at the edge of the falls.
