BURNHAM'S ROCK was located at the Gill side of 'Turners Falls', (the cataract, not the village). It was a notoriously famous fishing spot for Salmon and Shad during the early to mid-19th Century. Following numerous dam constructions along the fall/cataract, the higher water levels have inundated the physical characteristics of the site. This study will enlighten the reader as to the actual locations of Foster's Rock and Burnham's Rock . . . at the edge of the falls.eng
